MediaElch

If you have a collection of movies, TV shows, and concerts, if you want to manage your collection of movies, TV shows, and concerts, then you are well advised to give MediaElch a try. This tool was custom built to help you catalog and manage your movies, TV shows, and concerts.

MediaElch is available for multiple platforms: Windows, Mac OS X, Ubuntu, OpenSUSE, Arch Linux.
The Windows version does not have to be installed. Download an archive, extract its contents, run the MediaElch executable, and you will be presented with MediaElch’s interface.

MediaElch’s interface is divided into three panels. The one to the far left features buttons that allow you to switch between movies, TV shows, and concerts. Next to it there’s a panel that lists all the movies in your collection. Select a movie from the list and details about it will be presented by the panel on the right hand side. Overall, the interface is not difficult to figure out.

From the Settings menu you can tell MediaElch to monitor one or more directories for movies, TV shows, or concerts. Place a movie in a monitored directory and MediaElch will automatically detect it. You can manually add details about that movie and you can automatically download information from the web. MediaElch automatically downloads data from the web by using a feature called “Scrape.” The MediaElch Scraper works with The Movie DB, IMDb, and other online resources.
